Landscapes

Here are a few looks out our window. Again forgive the quality. I need to take our camera and not just my phone when I go walking around.

This is not a totally common sight (i.e. Africa) but unfortunately its not totally uncommon either. Trash gets discarded wherever one happens to feel like dropping it. Where are all the crying Indians when you need one??

So what happens to all that trash? Well, sometimes folks pile it up and burn it. Fires are VERY common. More common than burning trash is burning yard waste. You trim your hedges or tree branches, pile them and burn away. The first few weeks the smell of smoke was a bit irritating. Now I think it just smells like Edmonton (hey...I'm kidding...OK!).

These are nice ones. Whoever thought we'd live so close to rice fields? Folks are quite adept at step farming and it really makes the area pretty. Lots of bananas, rice, and tea grow around here. A lot of life is just choosing to look at the positive, right?
